About Daisry
A Namibian public policy advisor, Daisry Mathias serves His Excellency Dr. Hage G. Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia as Advisor on Youth Matters & Enterprise Development. Daisry is positive about Namibia and Africa’s future and capacitating the individual to succeed. In February 2022, she established the OYAYONE Foundation, her personal work to accelerate women’s economic empowerment and social progression. The Foundation works with and for underpriviledged, single mothers and their next generation.

Appointed 29 June 2015, Daisry Mathias is Advisor to the President of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Dr. Hage G. Geingob on Youth Matters & Enterprise Development. In her role, she focuses on the dimensions of education and skills training; health and welfare; economic inclusion and empowerment, and civic and political engagement of young people, under the overarching goals of poverty eradication, inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
Daisry serves as an aide to the President in the discharge of his constitutional mandate, engaging and coordinating inter-governmental and national stakeholders to advance pro-Youth policy programmes, in line with the President’s vision for an inclusive, united and prosperous Namibia. Daisry is dedicated to contributing to Namibia’s broad-based empowerment, deepening democratic participation and accelerated socio-economic transformation.
The remit of the Youth & Enterprise Development Advisor is to:
- Serve the President administratively in the Private Office.
- Assist the President in the preparation of key policy statements.
- Gather timely and authoritative information concerning socio-economic trends and developments; analyze and interpret such data, and submit to the President related studies.
- Appraise programmes of Government to determine extent to which they are contributing to the attainment of developmental goals and make recommendations thereto.
- Embody space for young Namibians to engage the Presidency through structured dialogue mechanisms.
- Convene, amplify and mainstream the voices of young Namibians into Government policy and programmes.
- Amplify flagship programmes of the Government.
- Promote Youth representation and participation at national, regional and multilateral fora.
- Strengthen institutional and inter-governmental collaboration and exchanges among youth and youth-led organisations to deepen unity, civic and political engagement and democratic participation.

The Vision of the President, His Excellency Dr. Hage G. Geingob of an “inclusive, united and prosperous Namibian House” and declaration of all-out war against poverty and inequalities, demands of every citizen to gauge within their context and uplift those at risk of being left behind.
Through the OYAYONE FOUNDATION (Association-Not-For-Gain), Daisry works with and for underprivileged single mothers in Namibia – to break the cycle of poverty by addressing basic needs and tackling asset poverty, to achieve social mobility. The Foundation is “Building an enduring inheritance for our children’s children” by facilitating the ownership and management of economic assets by more Namibian women.
